Holiday Baking of course

Oreo Trifle!! All you need is one tub cool whip, one batch of pudding (or in my case my Nana's home made boiled custard) crushed oreos, cream cheese block, four tbs butter, and about twenty people to help you eat it. YUM

Now, it's time for Mom's red velvet.
1 stick butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 ounces red food coloring
2 Tablespoons cocoa (heaping)
1 cup buttermilk
2 1/4 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda
Cream together butter and sugar, add eggs, in another bowl mix red food coloring and cocoa until cocoa is completely dissolved then add to the creamed mixture. Mixing on low, add buttermilk and flour. Mix but do not over-beat! Add vanilla, blend the baking soda into the batter and you can either make cupcakes or use two floured and greased 9 inch round cake pans. Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Cool and pour on the frosting

A few tips:
1. You need at least two or three oz of red food coloring or you red velvet will look like red felt
2. Always use either old or nice metal utensils or all your supplies will be pink forever,
3. Be careful when you lick you fingers or your teeth will be red
4. Watch for spills or your counter and floor will be red
5. Wear an apron or you clothes will be red
6. Let the batter stand for a few minutes before baking so that the vinegar and baking soda have time to react longer (makes those little fluffs in the cake better and allows you to make more cupcakes!!)
7. Always top with cream cheese frosting and I dare you not to buy it
8. Make your custom order from me! If not, as a former Bakery owners daughter, I recommend Gigi's cupcakes.
9. Share and Enjoy
10. Love...because ten is better than 9 tips.
