The Ocean Dry & White House, TN

Image
Aren't these a batch of handsome fellas? If you don't know already, my husband Blake is in a band called The Ocean Dry . You can click on the band name to be directed to their website!  This picture is one of my favorites from their recent photo shoot...Blake is the handsome man on the far right! Their CD is currently being mastered so I'll be sure to update you when it's ready to hit the shelves/internet. Can you believe that I even got to sing some harmonies on the CD too? Fun! In other news, we still have our sweet lolly cat! We pained our kitchen the first week that we moved in and she couldn't resist this tree-like structure. I could just see her little paws dipped in paint and all over our floors so we had to watch her closely to make sure there were no accidents. You would think we would have just locked her up in another room but she's to cute to lock up!!  Also, we're loving White House!! The speed limit is only thirty miles per hour so we're l

Trust Me On This...My First Ice Cream Recommendation

I hope you're having a swell summer! Our summer so far has delivered a slew of firsts; our first home, garage, our first time moving to two different cities together, and our first pint (honestly, pints) of Greater's ice cream together! By the wa,y do you like our first dining room color in the background?! Here's the scoop (literally); my family is CRAZY about ice cream! This creamy dessert will always be one way to our hearts. Up until this point in our marriage we try not to buy ice cream often because it's too dangerous to keep in the house. However, there's this special brand that we couldn't resist!!  My oldest sister and her husband lived in Cincinnati, OH for a few years while she was doing her residency so, therefore, whenever the five sisters gathered in that city, we had to scout out the best ice cream around. There was this cute little candy shop down the road that we had always heard Lea Ann talking about so one winter evening around Christmas

Happy Birthday Parker! Well hello friends! I apologize for the lack of posting lately. We've never been homeowners before and we've become preoccupied with sorting, decorating, celebrating, and spending time with family! So, about this monkey cake; yesterday we celebrated my sweet little nephew's birthday. Two years ago I had made him this cute monkey cake and sure enough, he asked for it again. Thanks to the link below I've found all sorts of fun ideas. See for yourself! http://www.parenting.com/article/how-to-make-a-monkey-cake I can't just tell you about yesterday though; this past weekend was amazing! Sadly, I didn't take very many pictures but I was able to spend a lot more quality time with friends and family since I wasn't strapped to a camera. Blake and I packed up the car and headed home for a quick trip to Alcoa, TN. I always enjoy those three hour trips home because we always have quality conversation with a quality soundtrack in the backgroun

Youth Girls Bake/Dance Party!

Hello again friends! Our second week in our new home has been filled with fun and friends! Blake and I worked so hard painting and repainting to get ready for this eventful evening! It's so much more convenient for us to be a part of our church family now that we're not driving thirty minutes to and fro! We are truly thankful for so many sweet friends! So, the youth guys had planned an "X-box night" last Friday so I gathered up the girls and decided to bake and dance our little hearts out. The night started out by making our own personal pizzas and catching up on life. We then advanced to making the famous Oreo Trifle and fudge chip cookies! I think we all had a chance to get to know each other better by just relaxing and goofing off. Even one of my best friends Shelley got to come! The night progressed and we moved to the sunroom for a dance party! You can just imagine the view that my neighbors had since we didn't close the blinds! I brought out my record playe
