To Mary Beth & Falcon

Image
Mary Beeeeth! Merb. Merberella. Mary B. Our sweet middle sister is getting married tomorrow in Hawaii to such a wonderful man named Falcon! I am overjoyed for them because they both know the love of Jesus and give him all the glory with their lives. I am heartbroken that I won't be able to celebrate with them in Hawaii but I am certainly celebrating in spirit. Growing up as the youngest of the five girls, I looked up to my sisters. Mary Beth was always so gentle, kind, artistic, creative, energetic, musical, and super stylish. Most of all, I remember that she sought after the Lord. I remember being four years old, sitting in her lap on the floor listening to her sing songs about Jesus to me, reading out of my children's Bible to my sister Amy and I, and asking us questions about the lesson we just learned. To have God's word in front of me at such a young age, I'm so undeserving! Each sister displayed God's love to me in a unique way, I'm so thankful for

Mom Is 60!

Mom, you're in Hawaii right now about to celebrate the marriage of your third daughter; the last daughter to get married. Wow! I wish I was there to hug you!  One of the first memories that I have of my mom is watching her bake. I remember looking up, watching her stir just a certain way with the flick of her wrists, making the never ending grocery list, and buckling me in my car seat on the way to church. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen together since she started a bakery while I was young. We also spent a lot of time in church together since she was an organist for as long as I can remember. We would sit in the church pews and listen to her practice, get in trouble, return to the pews, repeat. I treasured that music more than I can tell you. The organ and piano that filled up our home constantly is one of my all time favorite sounds. But, there's more.  I could skip the painful part of the story where my parents divorced back when I was five or six years old.
