Opryland Gatherings

Can you think of anything more magical at Christmas time than Opryland Hotel...poor Blake had never been before! I love going to see the lights, the large manger scene, and feeling small in such a palace. I was anxious to see it especially after the flood and remodeling. Everything was still beautiful but there wasn't as much of a canopy since a lot of the larger plants were ruined.

 The evening started at our Christmas party at the Hillwood Country Club for work and ended up at the lovely hotel with our dear friends Kelsey and Dwayne. Can you believe our boss got us diamond earrings for Christmas? The filet mignon, cheesecake, and comedian was quite enough, but hey... diamonds are a girl's best friend right?

 After getting lost, briskly walking through a million parking spots, and saying "it's freezing" about twenty times, we made it to the grand entrance! In case you didn't know already; Dwayne is the youth pastor at our church who happened to fall in love with my sweet/best friend Kelsey! The night couldn't have been better. I hardly even looked up at the lights because Kelsey and I were doing our usual catch up session where each topic overflows to the next. Very thankful for those. You guessed it, here are some of my favorite moments. Thank you Christmas!

Little Blue Truck Almost every day, Jude enjoys the rhythm and rhymes of a particular book about a little blue truck. This truck and a few adorably illustrated farm animals help a mean old dump truck ( HOOOONK ) learn a valuable lesson about making friends. We all need friends and the right kind; that is for certain. He can finish almost any phrase, make all the animal sounds, and turn each page as we snuggle together. We treasure those moments and hearing his animated "beep, beep, beep!" Since this little dude has such an attachment to the "Little Blue Truck" by Alice Shertle, we decided that it would be the perfect theme for his second birthday party. Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice.   Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.  The Lord is at hand;   do not be anxious about anything,  but in everything by prayer and supplication  with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.   And  the peace of God,  which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Fall Afresh On Me

Fall Decor At Our Tennessee Home I apologize in advance for this crazy and loaded blog post. I tried blogging about one topic and then it just exploded. So, enjoy! Fall Afresh? What does that mean? It happens to be the lyric of one of my favorite songs lately.  If you haven't heard of Bethel Music or Jeremy Riddle, here's a song that just might bless you. I love the lyrics! "Spirit of the living God, come fall afresh on me, come wake me from my sleep. Burn through the caverns of my soul, pour in me to overflow." That is my prayer!! I grew up singing hymns mostly so I knew this song came from this hymn , just in case you were unaware!   I've been thinking a lot about seasons, particularly fall since it's my first fall away from home.
