Finishing one job, starting another

Image
Dr. Storm and Dr. Bell :( I will miss you both! Thanks for calling Middle Tennessee Endodontics this is Caroline can I help you? (before we get started... Endodontists are root canal specialists) As you may know, we're moving to Hendersonville, TN on Friday therefore I am no longer able to work at my job in Murfreesboro, TN. I was planning on working there at least until the end of the year but God had other plans for us. I simply went around Hendersonville one afternoon handing out a few resumes and who knew that the first office would hire me?! Turns out the doctor at the new office is even friends with the doctors at this office, they both practice Endodontics, and are hiring me for the same position- Marketing Representative and Receptionist! This blessing has God's handprints all over it. It has NOTHING to do with me, my strengths, my abilities; it was all God.  I have loved every minute of working at this office. The doctors are both super friendly, caring, fun, and gr

Cade's Cove

Image
What do you get when you combine a 40 degree windy morning drive to cade's cove in a jeep with no windows or roof? One unhappy camper such as I who is already cold natured. Yes, after recalling my silent and short attitude I am a tad ashamed of myself but... It was sooo freezing I even had tears in my eyes from such discomfort. Dramatic, I know. But I felt like I was being punished, a forty minute drive of punishment. I didn't have the proper coat, layers, pants, shoes, or attitude. As the wind deafened our ears, swirled our hair into knots, and created tears in my eyes I began to be thankful for the spirit of self control. Without the holy spirit that morning my words may not have been so few. Hahah. However after warming up three hours later...I was grateful for the fall weather and all it's joys. I also was glad to share the trip with Whitney and Patrick whom we don't get to see much. I hate how a cold, windy ride spoiled my attitude for the majority of the journey b

Chocolate Bar Cake

There are just some things that I can not forget from childhood: spankings, slip-n-slides, lemonade stands, piano playing, and at the top of the list... CHOCOLATE BAR CAKE. It just sounds magical, and especially to a sweet-loving kid such as myself. I remember every time we made this cake because we always bought the chocolate from Red Food on Kingston Pike and that meant I would get free samples! There's nothing like Mom's Chocolate Bar Cake. I can't remember if this won Knoxville's Chocolate Fest but something from the bakery did! How can you go wrong with HERSHEY'S? This special lady went all the way to Hendersonville ( thanks to Amy's custom cake order). Enjoy, bake it, or I would be glad to make you one. OH YES... nuttin' better than butter milk on sale! And, the leftover milk makes divine biscuits, pancakes, and bellies!  the usual. poor vanilla didn't make it in the picture YES, you must buy the canned kind. the plastic affects

The Beginning: Leigh Ann and Lonas Overholt

Image
Blake's gracious momma Leigh Ann was the most beautiful bride! Last Thursday Blake and I traveled to good old East Tennessee to see his mom marry the most amazing man; Lonas Overholt. Sometimes things in life happen that we don't understand; some instances simpler than others. We do not always get answers to life's questions but sometimes by the grace of our good Lord we do. Last Thursday we all had the privilege of witnessing the Lord's faithfulness in action. After losing their spouses, these two amazing people found each other; there were countless reasons to celebrate! God is so good, He always keeps His promises even when others do not. Here's my eye on the evening... I apologize to the actual wedding photographer if I got in your way but I was just so thrilled to take pictures of this beautiful evening. Here are a few, more on facebook to come. We love you both!!
