Crab, Haynes, Dunahoos, legalism

When you go to Charleston, SC you have to stop by The Crab House on the river! This cozy restaurant  was where I tasted my first crustacean at five or six years old with the Mynatts! So far Blake has told me that he hated seafood but after being married to a seafood lover such as I, we've changed that! Who knew that he would even like crab, swordfish, and mahi mahi? So, over Thanksgiving break we had the wonderful opportunity to eat our first Alaskan King Crab together...mighty good! I just received word that my pictures from our holiday are on they way from Hawaii, I can not wait to load a full batch! My Hawaiian sister Mary Beth had them on her computer :).

On another note, this week has been a little crazy! I'm learning that I do not function well when working 10-12 hours a day. Thankful for a job, may need to look for another direction to put it simply. We have yet to pull out that blue bin of Christmas decorations, put up a tree, or hang up those sparklin lights. After such a stressful week tonight may be the perfect night for such a resolve...Amy Grant, socks, and A REAL TREE that smells up the house.

And guess what!! We got to see some of our college friends!!! I'm so grateful that we had a chance to spend some quality time with some loyal, selfless, humble friends of ours. We traveled over to that little town of Murfreesboro to see John, Lauren, Ashly, and Tyler! We've gotten to see the Haynes a lot recently and it's been awesome! However, we haven't gotten to spend as much time with the Dunahoos over the year.  But it doesn't matter what the occasion is, the conversation is never forced, and the fellowship is always extraordinary. I almost got teared up sitting at the table with those two fine women talking about life because it was just such a sweet moment! Talking about marriage, jobs, lack of jobs, direction, church, community, legalism, and struggles. There's always a reminder of hope and salvation in the back of our minds; we don't even have to mention it. It's understood that life happens, God always has a plan, and that we aren't perfect. (my favorite meditation of the week: legalism makes a self centered faith not a God centered faith. Compassion, love, honesty, we are justified through Christ, He has done the work for us)

We even got to share our recordings with them; only a sneak peek! Anyways, THANK you Ashly and Lauren for  sharing your strengths, weakness, your heart, your mind, your time and ...food! After having such a close-knit community and transitioning into a new foundation in a new town...it makes me so thankful for the few occasions that we have together as sisters. Aw! haha LOVE LOVE LOVE you all. :)
