Luna's in Love!

Image
Like I said before, I've never had a dog before. This is all new to me. A dog in love, children following me, finding rabbit holes in the ground, constant chewing... all new. So, it all began on one of our faithful strolls around the neighborhood. Sure, there's plenty of (rude) unleashed dogs that come up to our Luna and sniff, bark, and then scurry away; but then there's the dog on Christian Drive. About a mile back, to the right, past the pile of leaves and the fire hydrant that Luna is oh-so fond of... there's the young, beautiful, lonely, hunk of a what appears to be golden retriever. When these young pups first met, it was the roll in the grass, tackle, pounce, tongue out of the mouth love. This week, their love has taken a whole new turn; the dog on Christian Drive was found near Portland Road... near our house!!  I don't know if this dog followed Luna's Herbal Essences scent all the way here or if she's just your average curious dog. Mauricios!

( I found this picture on the internet because I was silly enough to forget to take one)    http://mauricioscookeville.com/ NOT your typical Italian restaurant. When you work at a hometown italian restaurant in college, (Marina's in Murfreesboro,TN) you have a hard time enjoying other italian food. Other than Maggianos and Macaroni Grill, I feel like a lot of italian food is watered down and spaghetti O'd! I remember one visit to Olive Garden where the server even told me they put water in their alfredo because heavy cream was too expensive...he put heavy cream in mine because he felt bad for selling me something other than the real, good, fattening kind of alfredo. (As if we need heavy cream in our tummies haha) So, Mauricios! We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Blake's Mom Leigh Ann and Lonas there in Cookeville, TN. We met halfway between Maryville, TN and White House, TN to celebrate my birthday a little late. It was THE BEST italian food that I've had in

I have so much fun dipping strawberries for people! Blake helps too! Please, don't ever hesitate to ask if you need some! Thanks again for reading and enjoying random bits :). This week I made some strawberries for a co-worker of my sister's. This was my first batch of chocolate on chocolate...dark and milk. mmmm  So, THIS IS HUGE! I've always been a fan of Pampered Chef, I couldn't be more excited about this gadget! I get strange looks when I try to explain this product by using hand gestures, so here are some pictures! The great thing about their products is that the majority of them help make life a little simpler. For instance, this beautifully awkward looking "salad chopper." It's name isn't very accurate... and of course, it doesn't just chop salad! You can chop meat, veggies, fruits, nuts, you name it! Can you imagine? The next time you make a chicken casserole, you won't have to shred the chicken by hand!! Or, the next time your husb

Looking over some pictures from last month, I realized that I forgot to share with you fine people about my birthday! I'm another year older, 24 now! We started the celebration a week early at my Mom's lake house in East Tennessee. My sister Amy had just finished her master's in education at UTC so we had double the celebration. My mom bought some Barbies Buddy-Q (Buddy's BBQ) for dinner which was a definite crowd pleaser, haven't had Buddy's in way too long! I brought along some sweet of the graduate's choice; Oreo truffles and homemade cookie cake in UTC colors.  When you put your bathing suit on for the first and only time in the summer, you can't help but reminisce about all your childhood times by the lake and neighborhood pools. Next summer we will definitely be in our bathing suits more than once but, more on that later! Playing with our niece and nephews made the day even more special, it was so sweet to watch their faces enjoy the day.   littl

Hello again! Well, it's been another wonderful weekend celebrating guess who...Kelsey! Don't worry, I promise to blog about someone else, but right now she's having all kinds of celebrations which make for great pictures, food, and activities. We had the chance to get together for Kelsey's lingerie shower on Saturday; don't worry, there's not going to be any explicit pictures but I will warn you about my fancy cake! We ate at my favorite restaurant, Macaroni Grill, and then came back to her Mom's house to celebrate. I had some wonderful help decorating and setting up the cake and strawberries that I made. Per the bride's request I even had the chance to make the bride and groom strawberries again! Maybe I should just go into the strawberry business because they seem to be the bulk of my orders. Hmmm. I promise to blog again soon about something other than showers.... to be continued!
