Homemade Laundry Detergent

Image
Laundry.  This comes to mind...  I like to save money and in case you do to, this post is for you. I mean, laundry detergent is expensive! Sheesh! I spent about $20 on all of the ingredients and this batch lasts my family of FIVE about a year.  I never thought that I would find myself asking my husband to make laundry detergent with me but, we enjoyed such a random challenge! Thank you Blake, you're so helpful! Before I tell you all about this project, I have to tell you about a precious friend of mine. My sweet friend Tina Holton that I met while living in White House, TN, inspired me to make this detergent! She let me borrow some one day and it's been on my to-do list ever since. Almost two years later, and living in Florida, here we go! Tina is one of those hospitable, truth speaking, truth seeking, caring people that I was blessed to have in my life! She now lives in Colorado with her husband and two dogs...and they LOVE it. We are so happy for them!

Showering Yin & Amber

TWINS! Meet Amber and Yin. Blake and I have had the pleasure of getting to know these two (four) over the past nine months through our church. Amber has such a sweet spirit, is a great listener, and will be such a caring mother. Yin is absolutely hilarious and has been a great friend to Blake! They're expecting a little girl and boy sometime in June! They're life is about to change is so many exciting ways! 1 Samuel 1:27 says, "I prayed for this child and the Lord granted me what I asked of Him." Amber and Yin told me that this verse has been the cornerstone for them during this time. It's amazing to see God's faithfulness through their hopes and dreams of starting a family... and He sure gave them the double portion. It was a unique time of fellowship meeting all of their sweet friends! I hope you guys felt loved and celebrated! There's nothing sweeter than the first few days with your new baby. Each moment is precious. We'll be praying for you f

On My Heart The Past Three Months

Image
Hello friends! Oh, how I've missed evenings spent writing and keeping record of our ordinary days! There have been so many sweet moments sharing life with friends and family that I haven't taken the time to record over the past few months. So, I'm going to do my best and get them all out tonight. RIGHT NOW. I have a lot going on in my head that I need to get out. Life. Has. Been. B. U. S. Y. (I don't like that phrase, not one bit) It's not a good excuse for many things since we always seem to find time for what we think is most important. Honestly, life has been and continues to be so sweet. The reason I can recognize the sweet is because there's moments of bitter too. I feel like God has given me a spirit of peace and thankfulness when I'd usually be kicking and screaming with complaints and worry. Some days I still worry and complain but there's so much to be thankful for. We have each other.  We have a house to live in, a beautiful little man named Ju
