Big Changes & Bigger Blessings

Image
Speaking of changes, the leaves have changed and withered, yay! A lovely centerpiece I made for freeee! Gathered some pretty leaves, pinecones, and buds from the yard. I made the one you see above last year, loved it too! Sometimes I write a blog post to document where the Lord has us. This is one of those, it's not short! It's that time of year when I'm thinking about Christmas gifts, holiday recipes, winter coats, Chick-Fil-A's chocolate chip peppermint milkshake, peppermint mochas, and the TRUE meaning of Christmas. We've started celebrating Christmas a little early since Jude will most likely make his arrival in December. We had such a great time last night going to see the Rockettes at The Grand Ole Opry with Blake's Mom and Lonas. It was refreshing to see so many Christmas lights! We also look forward to spending Thanksgiving with our good friends Tina and Cory this year. I am very sad that I won't be able to travel to Charleston, SC with the r

Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

Finally, a successful chicken noodle soup recipe! I've made chicken noodle soup a few times before and wasn't impressed with the recipes I chose. I also made a few mistakes that I've since learned from! For example, do not add your egg noodles until the last 5-10 minutes of cooking or they will overcook and end up as little shredded pieces of noodles. Another good one; do not add salt to the pot, only to your individual bowl if you prefer it because it could end up too salty. Very sad.  This recipe stuck out to me because it has a little bit of cream and parmesan cheese in it = so good and unique! Blake raved over it which always makes me feel good and I've already made it twice this season! Of course, a large portion of it is now in the freezer because I'm preparing for hibernation/baby time! So far I have banana muffins, potato soup (click for recipe on previous blog), chicken soup, spinach casserole, and poppyseed casserole in the freezer! Yay!  Befor

Jude's Room

It's hard to believe that there will be a little baby in our house very soon. I'm not sure that I comprehend this "What to Expect" app on my phone when it tells me that I have four weeks and four days until my due date; surely it's talking about someone else! Just in case the app is correct or Jude decides to come early, we've prepared a place for him! We have a nice little heirloom bassinet right beside our bed that he can sleep, cry, burp, spit up, scream, giggle and repeat in for the first few weeks and then, he's off to the crib! That is, of course, if we don't sell our house in the middle of that time. We're not going to talk about that yet!! Today is November 5th and we currently reside in White House, TN and for that, I am very thankful. Thankful for my handsome husband, the cold air, the kitty cat next to me, and good ol' TENNESSEE!  As you can see, I didn't let this whole Florida plan ruin my decorating plans for the nursery
