Happy Halloween Sweets!

Image
Hello again friends! I think this just might be the best October yet. There's tobacco barns burning, Coldplay just came out with a new album, we have some beautifully colored trees outside, I get to see WICKED on Tuesday with Kelsey (OMG!) , and I had the chance to make some pretty festive sweets! We also had the opportunity to celebrate the most awkward holiday with some fine friends this weekend! First, we started off right by carving pumpkins! Eight pumpkins creates quite a lot of seeds so we did the most honorable thing with them; roasted, toasted, and covered them with seasoned salt! MMM!  In case you're wondering, these fun treats are some chocolate Kahlua cupcakes with Oreos and MnMs to make a little OWL! Aw, I just love them....they were Blake's favorite! Then there's also some Keebler fudge cookies with Hershey's Kisses as witch hats, and of course the party wouldn't be complete without the season's finest chocolate covered strawberries! I HAD S

Still Baking Strong

YUM! Sorry for posting such a tempting picture! Some people have been asking to see some more recent pictures of baking sooo... I'd be silly to not listen to my dear readers! Last week I had the chance to make this scrumptious chocolate bar cake again for a frequent customer! CLICK HERE for recipe from one of my previous blog posts.  I also had the chance to make some more chocolate covered strawberries as we celebrated boss day at work for Dr. Cohen. I am so grateful to work with such an amazing staff. It's amazing to be able to see my coworkers as a family, we all care for each other! BLESSED. I found out through the grapevine that his favorite cake was german chocolate so, I had to accept the challenge! If you've ever made a german chocolate cake then you know how time consuming it could be! However, all the hard work was absolutely worth it. I used some coffee to make it even richer...it was amazing!  Don't you want to work with us??? We're looking for an ort

The Ocean Dry With Charlie Hall

Image
Hello again! Do you know how good the Lord is? On a daily basis, take some time to thank HIM! We're so amazed at what God is doing...he continues to bless us though we don't deserve it. This week has been very busy for the Herron household. Blake and I were plagued with a flu-like cold, which worried us as we prepared for our concert with Charlie Hall! Thanks to a steroid shot, Blake was able to sing but his hands kept falling asleep! We're just grateful that we were able to perform and have a good time!  If you don't know already, Charlie Hall is an amazing christian music artist that has written multiple worship songs that we sing on a regular basis. For example, "Strength Will Rise," "Majesty," "God of Jacob," and "Marvelous Light." He was so humble! We had the amazing opportunity to share the stage with him at MTSU yesterday along with 250-300 fellow worshippers!! Blake's wonderful mother and Lonas got to come down from E

My First Halloween Sweet

Image
My first Halloween sweet for the season! You guessed it, pumpkin rice crispy treats! All you have to do is dye the marshmallow goo that's melting in your pot, orange! I drew some little faces and added a green stem with some frosting too!  Here's a few pictures of the fun and some raking with Luna as well. You don't want to miss Blake sporting his toboggan! Blake's hair is getting so long, he definitely looks like a rock star now.  We're enjoying our first lawn to rake...except the fact that someone rolled us last week! We have nice little toilet paper wads all mixed with the leaves! Always check each other for ticks. Happy fall! BOO!

The Mr. & Mrs. Gibbs weekend

This weekend some of our great friends got married in Franklin, TN. As a matron of honor, I didn't get to take as many pictures as I normally would but, I enjoyed tending to the bride and groom! We started the weekend off right by celebrating this lovely bride with a good old fashioned bridal lunch! Thanks to some wonderful friends of the mother of the bride, we had poppy seed chicken casserole, rolls, and some sweet salad! We even got to meet her precious grandmother from Colorado! Can you believe we even had manicures and pedicures... thanks to Lu Ann! I can't believe they're finally married! It was a peaceful day filled with all sorts of details. Blake and I even got to record a song together which she walked down the aisle to. I hope you enjoy a small glimpse into their weekend! Here's a slideshow/movie I made with the song! Love ya'll! push play!!  holding the amazing bouquet of flowers that I had fun making... Jackson and Parker helped too!  sweet mome
