Jude's First Birthday Party!

Happy Birthday to Jude! Last week we had a blast celebrating our Jude's first birthday! We had some special guests come to visit all the way from Tennessee... GRANNA and GRANDAD! I decided on making the party theme around one of Jude's favorite books, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." Thanks to a million ideas on Pinterest we were able to pull it off I think! My great friend miss Kelsey just so happens to have a closet full of construction paper, paint markers, and many helpful tools that we were able to use to make these fun decorations! I had so much fun making everything and especially having so many helpers!! We were so grateful to have about twenty friends with us to celebrate! Thank you to everyone for you help and for celebrating with us! I can't believe we're parents of such a fun little guy! We love you Jude!

I made my favorite buttermilk yellow cake recipe from my mom's cookbook and some cream cheese frosting! Kelsey helped me make the tea cake cookies that the caterpillar ate through, haah!
My mom gave Jude this adorable caterpillar toy! Yay!

Time to sing and eat your FIRST cupcake!

After we sang to you and said "yaaaay!" you were so scared! Everyone was looking at you expecting you to eat this cupcake and you were a little overwhelmed! However, you recovered in a matter of seconds and quickly began to enjoy it!



Time to open presents! Our friends are so sweet! they gave you so many awesome toys to play with! THANK YOU!
Time to go outside and enjoy the 80 degree weather while blowing bubbles! You LOVED it!
The adults had fun blowing bubbles too!

We all had a wonderful time celebrating you mister Jude! After your party, you were ready for a nap! We love you!

Little Blue Truck Almost every day, Jude enjoys the rhythm and rhymes of a particular book about a little blue truck. This truck and a few adorably illustrated farm animals help a mean old dump truck ( HOOOONK ) learn a valuable lesson about making friends. We all need friends and the right kind; that is for certain. He can finish almost any phrase, make all the animal sounds, and turn each page as we snuggle together. Fall Afresh On Me

Fall Decor At Our Tennessee Home I apologize in advance for this crazy and loaded blog post. I tried blogging about one topic and then it just exploded. So, enjoy! Fall Afresh? What does that mean? It happens to be the lyric of one of my favorite songs lately.  If you haven't heard of Bethel Music or Jeremy Riddle, here's a song that just might bless you. I love the lyrics! "Spirit of the living God, come fall afresh on me, come wake me from my sleep. Burn through the caverns of my soul, pour in me to overflow." That is my prayer!! The Beginning: Leigh Ann and Lonas Overholt

Blake's gracious momma Leigh Ann was the most beautiful bride! Last Thursday Blake and I traveled to good old East Tennessee to see his mom marry the most amazing man; Lonas Overholt. Sometimes things in life happen that we don't understand; some instances simpler than others. We do not always get answers to life's questions but sometimes by the grace of our good Lord we do. Last Thursday we all had the privilege of witnessing the Lord's faithfulness in action. After losing their spouses, these two amazing people found each other; there were countless reasons to celebrate! God is so good, He always keeps His promises even when others do not.
