Eight Months With Jude

Little Jude! I'm working on this blog a little bit behind schedule as Jude turned 8 months on August 12. As you can imagine, we've been a little busy but I had to sit down and document some of Jude's sweetness!

You started to crawl at the Olson's house right before you turned seven months and then right when you turned seven months, you were a pro! We couldn't keep up with you! You crawl around the house and your little hands go "smack, smack, smack" on the tile floor. We did purchase a rug but it doesn't seem to help you very much when you land on your head. You've had many bruises on the front, back, and sides of your head from your brave falls! I wish that the houses down here had carpet so bad! It's not fun hearing the "thunk" your head makes on this tile!

We also noticed that right when you turned seven months you pulled up in your pack n' play or crib to greet us in the morning. It's also new to see you sitting up all by yourself when we find you in the morning. You make all sorts of noises that make us laugh! You like to say "baba" for bottle, "wawa" for water, "lala" for Lolly cat, and rarely "mama" for me!! Your first word was "baba" but I don't think that you actually meant anything by it. It's amazing to watch your interest in walking too! You like to hold our hands and walk around the room! It's surreal to think about how much more independent you are! You have definitely become more independent when it comes to eating! You aren't very happy when I try to spoon feed you anymore, you want to do it all yourself! You want to put the carrots, peas, fruit, Cheerios, or whatever it is in your mouth by yourself! You LOVE water out of your sippy cup too! We go on a 3 mile walk every night and sometimes you sing the whole way. Everyone loves to meet you on our walks or while we're at the grocery store. They all say how beautiful your eyes and hair are. We are amazing with how mobil you are now! You don't want to play with one toy very long, you have to keep moving! You love to play with my pots and pans and especially the wooden spoons to teeth on! You have two lower teeth that are in all the way, two upper and two lower teeth that are almost in! You've had a busy month as we moved into our new house in Florida but I think you like it! You follow Lolly around the house wherever she goes! You sleep from 8:30-8:30 most of the time, we are so spoiled! You eat four bottles a day with a breakfast of fruit and grains, a snack for lunch, and a dinner of veggies!

Our normal routine starts with you waking up around 8-8:30 and giving you your bottle, play time in the den until you eat breakfast at 10-10:30, nap until 12, bottle, play piano, play outside, run errands, snack around 2, play some more, bottle at 4, dinner at 6, walk at 7:30, bottle at 8, bed at 8:30. You are so much fun! I love taking care of you and watching you learn! You are starting to learn the word "NO" from us since you're not allowed to play with certain household items! Daddy loves giving you baths still! It's his favorite! Thank you for being so much fun!

I think we're going to have to retire the "laying on the blanket" idea soon! You wouldn't lay still for two seconds unless you had something to teeth on!

YOU LOVE THE PIANO! You will crawl from one end of the house to the other with such determination JUST to reach the piano. You pull yourself up, stand, and can barley reach the keys unless one foot is on it's tippy toes! You love to sing and play like mom and dad! You also love to play daddy's djembe drum too! It's so cute to watch!
