Ten Months With Laurie Kate

Image
You took your first steps this month! You've walked nine steps in a row so far! Your big brother began walking at ten months too. You're not so sure about walking on the tile though, the rugs feel good but the tile is scary. I don't like walking on the tile either! It hurts my knees... I'm getting old! Little girl, you're a joy. You say all kinds of words but mostly, "hi," "mama," and "dada." You love to smile, crawl, and bother your brother. He's learning to share with you better each day. You love music and you don't really like toys, you like people. You want to socialize! We can't get enough of your snuggles.  You've developed quite the feisty attitude at mealtime so we are trying our hardest to incorporate some sign language because whew, your little chubacca noises aren't kind to our ears!  I'm going to keep this blog nice and short because I was able to capture so much of November with Thanksgi...

Thanksgiving In Charleston

Image
Since Blake and I have been together, we've never spent a Thanksgiving apart; this year was different. Sadly, Blake was unable to join us in Charleston, SC for my family's holiday. I was so torn about leaving Jude and Blake in Florida but it was very important to me that I see my family, especially my grandparents whom I hadn't seen in two years. So, I traveled from one coast to the other. I took big breaths. I cried. I Face-Timed. I had some quality time with Laurie Kate and I thoroughly enjoyed Charleston like I have many times before. We traveled to Charleston numerous times growing up. I was there multiple times a year because my best friend's family traveled there too. If you haven't been, you're missing out on one of our country's finest cities. Charleston smells like old wood. I'm so fortunate that my mom is from such an amazing city.  But I didn't go to Charleston to be a tourist. I went to Charleston because I longed to see my family....
